Mark Ruttan contributes $10,000 to twin-pad arena and library project

The Town of Wasaga Beach is happy to share that local resident Mark Ruttan has donated $10,000 to the town’s twin-pad arena and library fundraising campaign.

“Mark’s generosity is greatly appreciated and on behalf of council and staff I thank him for his sizeable gift,” Mayor Nina Bifolchi said.

Ruttan presented the donation to the town on Tuesday, Jan. 4. Mayor Bifolchi accepted the contribution on behalf of the municipality.

In recognition of Ruttan’s support, one of the facility’s change rooms will carry his name.

The local realtor, who is also a long-time community volunteer and a former member of town council, said he is proud to be a part of the twin-pad arena and library project.

“These types of places bring the community together and that’s what it is all about,” said Ruttan, who for many years played hockey at the Wasaga Stars Arena. “We need these type of amenities for our growing community. You need to look down the road and plan.”
