Signature Sold Group donates to twin-pad arena and library project

The Town of Wasaga Beach is pleased to announce that the Signature Sold Group has donated $20,000 to the town’s twin-pad arena and library fundraising campaign.

“On behalf of council, I thank the Signature Sold Group for its generous donation towards the arena and library project. This is a kind thing to do and will touch the lives of so many in the years ahead,” Mayor Brian Smith said.

Realtor Nadene Milnes, Broker and Owner of Signature Sold Group, said she is happy to be a part of the project. Her family has strongly supported youth hockey in Wasaga Beach since her son started his hockey journey here over 11 years ago.

In addition, the Signature Sold Group of realtors have been a major sponsor of free skates at the arena over the last 12 years. They have also been long-time sponsors of Wasaga Beach Minor Hockey.

“The arena has a special place in our hearts as this is where we have spent many hours with our families and others in the community,” Milnes said. “We are making a donation because we know how much youth sports means to kids. It is where they meet some of their lifelong friends, it is where they build confidence, it keeps them active and most of all it allows them to be a part of something they are proud of.”

She noted the new facility will mean so much the community.

“We are big sponsors of the Silver Stick tournament, which raises a lot of money for minor hockey. This new facility will give the association a chance to run a great tournament and not have to rely on other towns for ice time. For visitors, it will be a great reason to come to Wasaga, play in a tournament at the arena, and visit the town,” they said.
